چکیده
Abstract The effects of acute sublethal doses coumaphos, an acaricide used against Varroa destructor infestation in beekeeping, on the locomotor activities four native honeybee subspecies Türkiye including two ecotypes (Carniolan - A. m. carnica , Syrian syriaca Caucasian honeybee- caucasica and Muğla Yığılca Anatolian anatoliaca ) were investigated using individual activity monitoring system. Analysis data first 12-h, last 24-h time periods showed that bees from not affected by coumaphos at all three (1, 2, 5 μg 10 μl sucrose syrup for each bee). In contrast, significantly elevated levels 2 within 12 h. Bees both also dose but magnitude increase was lower these compared to seen 12-h period. general, increasing resulted increased (locomotor activity), with differences sensitivity across populations. Possible mechanisms underlying this variance suggestions further studies are discussed.

the effects of cooperative versus individual directed reading thinking activities on students inferential and referential questions
two groups of students were assigned as experimental and control ones, and were given instruction on directed reading-thinking activities and after some treatment, they were post-tested. although the initial pre-test did not show any significant differences, the final post-test result revealed that the cooperative reading comprehension helped the experimental group. the cooperative students’...

Some floral pigments (including antioxidants); carotenoids, chlorophylls, anthocyanins and xanthophylls were determined colorimetrically in some honeybee, Apis mellifera L., products; citrus, clover and cotton honeys, three types of beeswax; white, brown and dark and propolis; brown, dark brown and dark. Two solvents (acetone or ethanol) were used for extraction and determination of pigments at...
متن کاملProteomic Analysis of Honeybee (Apis mellifera L.) Pupae Head Development
The honeybee pupae development influences its future adult condition as well as honey and royal jelly productions. However, the molecular mechanism that regulates honeybee pupae head metamorphosis is still poorly understood. To further our understand of the associated molecular mechanism, we investigated the protein change of the honeybee pupae head at 5 time-points using 2-D electrophoresis, m...
متن کاملMale fitness of honeybee colonies (Apis mellifera L.).
Honeybees (Apis mellifera L.) have an extreme polyandrous mating system. Worker offspring of 19 naturally mated queens was genotyped with DNA microsatellites, to estimate male reproductive success of 16 drone producing colonies. This allowed for estimating the male mating success on both the colony level and the level of individual drones. The experiment was conducted in a closed population on ...
متن کاملResonance frequencies of honeybee (Apis mellifera) wings.
During flight, insect wings bend and twist under the influence of aerodynamic and inertial forces. We tested whether wing resonance of honeybees (Apis mellifera) matches the wingbeat frequency, against the 'stiff element' hypothesis that the wing's first longitudinal mode exceeds the wingbeat frequency. Six bees were immobilized with their right wing pair outspread, and stimulated with a shaker...
